The November General Meeting
will be Friday 28th November at the Community Hall on the corner
of Todds Road and Ellis Street Lawnton commencing at
7:30 pm
The next working bee will be Sunday 7th December starting at 8:00AM.
Presidents Report
Don't forget the special general meeting called
for Friday the 28th November to discuss and vote on the proposal to start
negotations with the Wamuran Model Flyers about our clubs amalgamating.
The auction will be held after the meeting, courtesy of Graham Tattersall.
Secretary's Report
Here we are almost at the end of 2008, which
we cannot call as the best of years - many things have just not worked
in our favour. However, there have been many positives also.Picking up
on that theme we have the November meeting, which the Committee have called
as a Special General Meeting to discuss and vote on the possible amalgamation
of Wamuran Model Society Inc and Pine Rivers Aeronautical Model Society
Inc. together with the procurement of a new field at Uhlmann Road Burpengary.
To this end I have invited both the President and Secretary of Wamuran
Model Society Inc to the meeting to answer any questions you may wish
to put to them regarding this matter.
Due to the importance of this matter it has been decided to suspend all
other business for the November meeting and reschedule those matters to
the January 2009 meeting. However the auction will go ahead after the
proxy vote has been conducted. So bring along those items you don't use
any more.
Wishing each and every one of you a Merry Christmas a Happy New Year and
very few heavy landings.

Transmitter Pound
Discipline
Members are reminded that frequency tags must be
removed from the board and transmitters returned to the pound when you
complete a flight. This applies to 2.4GHz sets too! We are all responsible
for policing this.
Warbirds Day Sunday
23rd Nov.
PRAMS is hosting the Southern Air Force Warbirds
on this day. We ask that club members fly ONLY Warbirds on this day! Everyone
is welcome to come and watch!
Junior Camp Over
Fran is organising a camp over for all juniors after the
club Christmas Party on Sunday 14th Dec to Monday 15th. Contact Fran on

NOTICE
Notice is given that the management committee is calling
a Special General Meeting on Friday 28 Nov 08 to discuss and vote on a
proposal to commence negotiations between the Wamuran Model Flyers Inc.
and our club regarding the amalgamation of our two clubs for the purpose
of obtaining, developing and leasing a new flying field in Uhlmann Road,
Burpengary.

Raffle tickets for Xmas raffle - $2 each or
3 for $5 – prize is a leather backpack – drawn at the Xmas party..tickets
available from Peter Tompkins or at the canteen.
Committee Bylines
At the recent committee meeting the following matters were discussed:
The new constitution has been approved and registered by the Dept of Fair
trading. The club is now operating under the new Constitution, copies
of which are available from the Secretary if required.
Gordon Grant is standing in as Treasurer pro tem since Jim Fagan resigned.
The Heli and Glider day on 9th Nov was somewhat affected by the wind,
but was otherwise successful. Rod Garrett was thanked for organising the
heli event and supplying prizes.
Twenty members attended the last working bee, and topsoil was spread over
the drain between the runways and also as top dressing on the runways.
The Warbirds Day on 23rd Nov to be advertised. Warbirds only to be flown
on the day. We need to find someone to run the canteen that day.
The purchase of a RealFlight G4 simulator was approved to be installed
on the new computer in the clubroom - Dan Sawyer was thanked for supplying
the computer, and will purchase and install the simulator.
The appointment of N Kerr as Assistant CFI was approved.
Frank Grosvenor has offered to run the canteen on Saturdays and to bring
supplies along for each weekend. We need someone to run the canteen on
Sundays. This will be operated on a trial basis until the January 2009
meeting when it will be opened for discussion at the meeting.
Problems with poor Tx pound discipline were discussed. A notice to be
put in Airwaves urging all members to abide by the Bye-law covering this.
The Christmas Raffle of the leather backpack donated by Euan Hutchison
needs to be pushed - tickets available from the Secretary and the canteen
at $2 each or 3 for $5. If insufficient tickets are sold, the draw may
be held over.
Graham Tattersall has agreed to run the club auction.
MINUTES OF THE GENERAL MEETING OF PRAMS HELD ON 31 OCT 2008 AT LAWNTON COMMUNITY HALL.

Meeting opened at 7.30 pm.

Moved G Reid, seconded G Grant that the minutes of the previous meeting be accepted. Carried.
Matters arising from the minutes:
There was considerable discussion on the matter of payment for the canteen operator. The motion carried over from the previous meeting to resume payments was discussed.
The Treasurer stated that he was only bringing to the clubs notice that commission was being paid to the canteen operator, this he did not agree with. When it was elaborated on, the Committee who were elected for 2007/2008 period said they would pay the canteen operator commission to open the canteen five days a week. This commission was not to be divulged to club members. The Treasurer recommended to the members present that commission in the future should not be paid to anyone as it was a purely voluntary service.
A heated discussion then ensued in which a certain Club Member accused the Treasurer of causing the Canteen operator to resign. This he denied and stated that as Treasurer he was responsible to all club members for all monies paid into and out of the Club funds.
Finally it was moved K Turton, sec R Garrett that the secretary write to Therese Ross and apologise if her feelings were offended, and asking if she is willing to resume her duties. Carried.

Secretary's Report:
Correspondence as per the Correspondence Book.
The secretary presented a motion that had been proposed by R Hall, seconded B Jory that General Meetings be held at the clubhouse on the last Sunday of each month. There were numerous proxy votes in favour of the motion presented.
It was pointed out by several long standing members that this had been tried before, and didn't work. It was also pointed out that notice of the motion should have been given via Airwaves for all members to be able to vote.
An amendment to the motion was moved by G Grant, sec I Ray that the motion be held over until the next General Meeting . Carried.
Notice of the motion will be given in Airwaves.
New Members:

Treasurer's Report:
As circulated. The treasurer announced that he was resigning as from this date.
CFI Report:
Gift certificates for a soaring flight have been obtained as first and second prizes in the club championship. Thanks were given to T Mills for giving them at a good price. F Sutherland has resigned as CFI due to work commitments. The CFI is considering a replacement.
Field Maintenance:
Work to be done at the next working bee was detailed - finishing
drainage work and repairing fencing.
Heli Report: Heli flying seems to be operating without any conflict with
fixed wing at this time. The proposed new field at Uhlmann Rd holds out
the opportunity to have a separate heli flying area once it is developed.
Fuel Report:
Plenty of stocks in hand.
Catering: Nil
PRO Report:
The PRAMS Warbirds day was wrongly given in Airwaves - the correct date is Nov 23rd.
Airwaves/Library:
Airwaves is running fine, the QEFI magazine subscription has been renewed. No new stock for the library will be purchased until the new budget is handed down, probably next year.
Moved by B Evans, sec G Grant that the reports be accepted. Carried.
General Business:
It was moved by G Grant, seconded by P Tompkins that the honorarium for the treasurer and secretary as previously agreed be paid to the treasurer in full and 50% to the secretary as he only served for half of the year. Carried.
Dan Sawyer was thanked for supplying the new computer for the clubroom. It was moved by D Sawyer, sec by G Grant that a new flight simulator package and controller be purchased for the new computer. Carried. R Garrett agreed to supply both.
The lack of discipline in the use of the transmitter pound was remarked on by several members. It was pointed out that all members are responsible for seeing that the rules for keys and transmitters are followed properly, and that anyone seen not obeying should be reminded of them.
The chairman suggested that long standing members who had helped in the development of the field in its early days should be recognized and thanked for their efforts. A motion to this effect was moved by B Jory, sec G Grant and carried with acclamation. Members named were K Turton, B Evans and B Staines. Many others were also involved.
The cattle grid at the entrance to the car park at the field is wearing out. Repairs to be investigated by Field Maintenance.
Members were informed that Sid Bray had been injured in a fall and was in hospital. Secretary to send a get well soon card.
Col Parry asked that anybody interested in flying off water contact him as there was a meeting being organized on a newly available lake shortly.
The meeting was closed at 9.05pm.
